Hallo All I'm currently in the early prep research stages of a book on the exploits of 2 Recce in UK and Far East. Any help is most appreciated, the most important being contacts with any surviving members or family with memories/photos/diaries/letters etc. If you happen to encounter anything which might assist tell their story I'd really love to hear from you, either here or via personal message (PM). Especially any of those surviving members of 2/Recce who may be part of your local Legion. Many thanks
I am sorry that I cannot be of help, but I certainly wish you well with your book. As the Regiment was formed from the 6th Battalion Loyal regiment (North Lancs) perhaps worth contacting RBL North West District HQ. Lancashire District do not appear to have an email address, but their details are shown as: County Office Address Ground Floor, Conway House Ackhurst Business Park Foxhole Road Chorley Lancashire PR7 1NY County Officers County Manager - Mr John Hardiman County Secretary - Joanne MacNamara T: 01257 244691 Regards Tom
Cheers Paul & Tom. Tom, I shall check them out - what's funny is that the two fellows we've had here with memories (Ernie and Ellis) both emigrated post-war, so I think my hunt will be global It's a story which needs telling though, I think! all the best to you both
Paul, Tom - can either of you tell me how much coverage 2/Recce get in "This Band of Brothers" (Jeremy Taylor) Is it just a couple of pages or is it more detailed? Many thanks
Good luck and let me know if you want any war diaries. Maybe you could do a 50/50 deal regarding costs with Paul
Paul, Tom - can either of you tell me how much coverage 2/Recce get in "Only The Enemy In Front"? Is it just a couple of pages or is it more detailed? Many thanks I've got the book in front of me and 2 Recce are mentioned quite a bit in Chapter 10, Turning Point at Kohima-pages 91 to 102 Lesley
Cheers Drew. I'm planning on getting down to the NA myself at some point (soon-ish). Perhaps at a time when we can share a cuppa and sarnie. I take it you're off the crutches etc now?! I'll always share with Paul & Tom all the best

Hello, are you still looking for photos etc about 2 Recce in Far East? I have found several in my Dad's box of photos. Some of places he visited, with notes on the back, and some dates, and others of various soldiers. I can scan these and send them if you are interested. I was trying to find where he had been during the war, and found this forum to be the most informative. Regards, Boydwill
hello Boydwill at home dad has not been on the forum for nearly 3 years i will send a private message for you regards Clive
Bodywill - Clive, how did this chat pan out? Would love to see the photos and read the backs! All The Best
