    219077 War Substantive Lieutenant Bryan Butler PUGH, 3rd Battalion WELSH GUARDS

    This Officer was in command of a fighting patrol which carried out a very successful raid, penetrating deep into the enemy's lines and securing invaluable information as well as inflicting casualties.

    Throughout the two engagements when the enemy attacked the Battalion, Lieutenant PUGH displayed conspicuous gallantry and by his outstanding leadership he set a very high example to all ranks.

    After the eat of his Company Commander he commanded the Company during the remainder of the action.
