    Vehicle mechanic in "A" Squadron of the 24th Lancers.

    He is on the 24th Lancers Nominal roll at disbandment as an unposted reinforcement 254 CDS - with 1 RTR (Presumably due to his prior 1 RTR association)

    Nb. The army service number - 1868512 - shown on the Nominal roll - seems to be incorrect.

    Including his having been Mentioned in Dispatches - 24d6m1943

    And a Military Medal with 1 RTR - October 1943 - Ref.

    "Lord was in the Tank Regiment in the army. He was wounded on D Day and returned to England.

    in it was understood that some shrapnel remained in the wound."
