WE ARE TOLD the 26<SUP>th</SUP> Hussars were "raised at Meerut in June 1941 from a cadre of personnel taken from the 14th/20<SUP>th</SUP> King’s Hussars, and [were] assigned to 2<SUP>nd</SUP> Indian Armoured Brigade. Not sure if there would be much re. Major Edward (Ted) Ronald Pettit with the 26th Hussars.... 24th L - War Diary - has... 19/1/42 Major E. R. Pettit posted to 1st Lothian & Border Yeomanry. And he later served with the 26th Hussars... see ("career" ref.) below... although the details there are...
