That sounds like a good idea.

I'm happy for you to open it yourself; please let me know where you put it.

If it's ok with you I'll then send the remaining material to your PM so you can run your eye over it before adding it to the new thread in a way that makes sense to you and enables other experienced posters to focus their comments on relevant sections/documents.

I should add here to all readers/posters that there really isn't a lot of further material to come from me, so don't get your hopes up.

Hi Graeme, a small update on Alan Eames from Holland.
The military actions along the river, such as dike surveillance, inspections of the Germans on the other side, and infiltrations, were carried out alternately by Polish, Canadian, and British units. After the Canadian Algonquin Regiment, the following were the marines of the British 27th Royal Marines, from early February to early April. This was an independent infantry unit deployed under Canadian command in various locations between February 18 and June 27, 1945. [...] During these operations along the Bergsche Maas, the marines Clay, Howard, and Eames were killed in action due to shooting incidents (Killed in Action). [...] Howard and Eames were given a temporary grave at the Dutch Royal Cemetery in Oudheusden and were reburied in 1953. [...] That they were not reburied in one of the British military cemeteries was their parents' wish

That'll do nicely. I have, today, managed to join a lot of the dots from your XLS, but I'll save that until I've had a chance to see the MoD records material.

That sounds more promising than I'd expected.
