    Hello Ypres,

His POW number was 120 and he was held in Offlag 79 at Braunschweig.

You probably know all this anyway. Sorry I can't help with details of his capture. You should send for his service record.

Good chance he was taken at Kalamata in Greece. There was a Last Ditch Stand on this day. I should have checked before posting sorry...

    Hi,

You may wish to apply to Red Cross for his paper’s on 20th May via this link -

Requests for information about people held during Spanish Civil War or the Second World War: Quarterly limit reached

It will give you full chapter and verse on his movements as POW.

You’ll need to be quick off the mark to check the site about 8am BST to see if the online application form is available - if not check the site every 30 minutes until it does pop up. You need to complete it asap as past experience suggests the application window will close by mid morning. It’s a free service and it takes about 4 months to get paper copies of his ICRC papers delivered through the post.

    Good Luck

    Steve
