Hi can anyone tell me what the 2nd Batt East Lancs Reg was doing in 1944 in India. I am looking for information on this man. Up until two weeks ago, I had access to all our local WW2 newspapers as I work for a small local museum but they have gone to be scanned now and I suddenly realised I had missed looking up this man. The official Casualty List reports him as having "Died", which generally implies from illness rather than from wounds.
