Bit of a test to see if this works-I'm posting a lot of 'twenty to eight' stuff on my Facebook page but realise I'm not as active on here anymore so I'm wondering if this would work by adding an image and a link? Let me know what you think?

The France and Flanders Campaign 1940

The 'Phoney' War, October 1939 - May 1940: Men of the Royal Fusiliers man a Bren gun position at the front near Saint Francois-Lacroix.
Looking in the war diaries I can ID this unit as the 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers. They went to the SAAR Front in December 1939 and I've added the war diary pages to this excellent image.

    Andy.

Technically, this would be 2nd Battalion Royal Fusiliers (City of London Regiment) rather than Royal Regiment of Fusiliers which is a name derived from bringing together English regiments with 'Fusilier' in their title in 1968.

I agree with your ID, Andy. Presumably an officer in the foreground judging by his webbing and the rather stylish combination of rubber boots with Service Dress. The Bren gunner looks to be wearing a greatcoat and '37 pattern anklets which is what I'd expect for a front-line unit by December.

Looks like I'm thick also. Andy, whats with the Face book page & is it wise being on there?
Grange Hill was on at tea time when i was at school in the eighty's. Cracker Jack was crap. I'd rather watch re runs than be on Face book. No, leave Face book links to that forum. Do we want some of the idiots on here? More work for the Mods I think. How about paying to be a Patron. Andy, one is interested why one is on Face book more than this forum?
I see Tricky has a lot of them???
