Up until 5th November 1942 3 Para were based at Bulford Camp in Wiltshire. On that date A Group (HQ B & C Coys) went to Hurn Airport here they emplaned on 8th November flying via St Eval for Gibraltar, arriving on 10th. Of the reminder on 8th November R Coy travelled to Liverpool where they boarded P 19. the remainder travelled to Avonmouth where they boarded P22. The group that landed at Gibraltar were the group that dropped on Maison Blanche at 08:30 on the 11th. The Battalion finally met up again in Rouiba on 24th November.
