CITATION IN RESPECT OF 31179 LT/COL. T.G. LINDSAY Irish Guards attached R.A.F. Regiment. [1304 Mobile Wing]

Lt. Col. T.G. LINDSAY arrived off the Beach early on the morning of ‘D’ Day, and started for the shore in the dark at 23.00 hours. When within about 50 yards of the shore, the “Rhino” struck a mine and there were three casualties. Col. LINDSAY overcame great difficulties in getting the remaining personnel and all the vehicles safely ashore complete and without damage.

Since ‘D’ Day this officer has continuously set an example in leadership to all ranks.

He is most strongly recommended for a Mention in Despatches.
