    By 31st October 1940 the British were confident that there would be no invasion in 1940. The Blitz, however, continued unabated and would eventually result in nearly 40,000 civilian deaths. Nevertheless the battle for control of the air over Britain had been decisively won by the RAF, and in particular Air Marshals Dowding and Park.

    31 October 1940
    On this day the last daylight raid by the Germans take place in the UK. It's the end of the Battle of Britain. However night-time attacks continue throughout the winter of 1940-41 only ending when the Luftwaffe move east in preparation for their attack on the Soviet Union.

    But the Luftwaffe’s ‘tip and run’ missions would begin in the winter of 1941/42 and continue to June 1943.

    That is correct but this context is the Battle of Britain 10th July to 31st October 1940
