    Hello all,

I wonder if someone is able to help me with this query please, I have reccently acquired a Military Medal Burma Star group of medals to the Welch Regiment. I woukd like to k ow if it is possible to get a record of the Gazette entry and the MM Citation to confirm if it was awarded through his action in Burma. I would be grateful for any help offered. Many thanks, lincsregt

Thank you so much for this information, I am very grateful. What an interesting middle name 'Verdun' I also have his Fathers First world war medals, he was a gunner with the Royal Artillery, I guessing her served at Verdun. Many thanks again.

I don't think any British troops fought at Verdun.
If you see this thread alot of children born in WW1 had names of battles.
    Names that are battles

    Verdun was the most popular.

My maternal uncle's middle name was Verdun, possibly named for the same reason.
