My father served in 'C' Sqn, 3rd RECCE (NF) from February 1941 until he was wounded in April 1945. He had been transferred from 1st Btn Kings Own Scottish Borderers, where he had served as part of the BEF. I am trying to find out where I might be able to get a copies of Regimental photograph's for both Regiments. I know I can contact the KOSB museum to see if they have anything but I haven't got a clue who I can contact regarding the 3rd RECCE one. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks Bob
Just to save too much duplication I see you already have his service records: New member from Northumberland His details: New member from Northumberland Anything in the journals? Reconnaissance Journal

The ‘NF’ donates the Northumberland Fusiliers and in this instance the 3rd Recce Regiment was previously the 8th Bn Royal Northumberland Fusiliers. It was a duplicate of the 4th Bn Royal Northumberland Fusiliers, which was the Recce Battalion of the 50th (Northumbrian) Division, until early 1942; the 4th Bn was then known as the 50th Recce Regiment. The Royal Northumberland Fusiliers museum may be able to assist you with photographs: Fusiliers Museum of Northumberland You may also want to obtain a copy of the regimental history: 'The History of the Royal Northumberland Fusiliers in the Second World War' (CN Barclay). Best, Steve.
