Seeking whereabouts of the above when two of the men on my war memorial were killed, brothers on the same day, same regiment, 28th June 1944 one buried Bayeux Cemetery the other commemorated on the Bayeux Memorial. Any details gratefully accepted. Regards Ralph.
If that the Lord brothers, they listed in the roll of honour in Taurus Pursuant as killed at CHEUX. 3 RTR were in 11th Armd Div Tpr H Lord (37) Tpr H Lord (47) Note. Numbers in brackets are their 'last two' not their ages .
Just found a bit more detail in the 3RTR War Diary relating to casualties: you might be able to use this to help identify their respective Trades.
Ralph There is also a book 'Hill 112' by Major J J How that may contain additional information. Copies available quite cheaply on eBay. I have a copy and will check it but, due to current commitments, this won't be for several days.
I've just done that & also Taurus Pursuant and also Black Bull by Delaforce for June 28th mentioning 3 RTR
