I have just discovered that a member of my Cricket Club (Timperley CC in Manchester) called Robert Wolstencroft served in the Royal Artillery in the 450th Battery, 135th Light Anti Aircraft Regiment.

In a newspaper report dated May 12th 1944 he is recorded as dying in hospital in Folkestone as a result of a motorcycling accident.

Does any member of this forum have access to the units war diary that might make reference to this incident and also perhaps confirm the regiments tasking at this time. I surmise his unit could have been part of V1 protection measures so late in the war but would welcome a firm view from others more knowledgeable.
