4544916 Sgt James George KNIGHTS, 53 Recce: 11/08/1944 & 59 Recce: 14/05/1945

    Hi,
    I am trying to find out some information about 4544916 Sgt J G Knights who was wounded in Normandy on the 11th August 1944 with 53 Recce, he is then list as 'Died as a result of accident' with 59 Recce on the 14th May 1945.

    Does anybody have access to the war diaries or can help with any information on where and how he was wounded and later died?

    Any help or guidance appreciated,

    Wasn't it the other way round?
    Casualty lists show, wounded 11/8/44 with the 59th and died 14/5/45 with the 53rd?

    59 Recce were disbanded August 44 and troops transferred, presumably that is how he was in the 53rd. Although the main page of the CWGC has the 59th the concentration reports show the correct 53rd.
