Hey All, Showing my Dad yesterday some of what I have found about his regiment so far, made him remember things he hadn't thought of in many years. I'll get the full details when we calm down a bit (lol) but he did say, 'We always knew, before we got orders, when we were going to be sent into action, because the Padre showed up.' I guess other people have said that too?
Still the same today..I have a picture of the Brigade Padre having a chat with my Troop, less than 24hrs later we was crossing the border into Iraq
We always knew when we were moving when the Ambulances showed up they were sure to be filled up shortly cheers
I wonder what the Padres thought of it all... Lovely to have a post from you, Tom, on one of my threads. I have been searching for 46th recce stuff (July 1944 onwards), and have really enjoyed reading your posts. I have printed off quite a few of your comments for my Dad to read tomorrow. And I have made a note of the website you quote. When we have managed to scan some photos, record some stories, I hope you will have a look and share your thoughts Regards, Diane
