Rob, I couldnt even find a reference to 10th Med regt with the 49th Div. I'll have another look through the books that I have over the weekend, as have quite a bit on veritable and March 45.

Thanks again, Medium Regts RA were Corps Arty under AGRA Command not Divisonal so don't appear in Div Regt records (sometimes mentioned) like Div or Regt Field do. but in this case they were being directly commanded by the 49th. Div.
    Cheers Rob

    Hi Rob

It was probably a small operation to help keep the enemies head down. Lots appear in the WD of my Dad's unit as well, the details of which I can't find.

The operation to finally take Arnhem was between 12 - 16 April and called Operation Quick ANger. I have some papers on this op from 49 Division as 2 batteries of my Dad's unit were under their command. I can't see any refernce to 2 AGRA or 10 Medium in these.

    Cheers - Robert

Cannot find reference to "OP-REGENTS PARK" but the 1st Bn Leicesters, 11th Bn Royal Scots Fusiliers & 7th Duke of Wellington Regt. were all from 147 Infantry Brigade (49 DIV) and active in March. 89 LAA Regt. RA used their Ack-Ack guns to fire across the river about this time.

    Regards

Cheers for the info on the Battalion, it looks like the Op was to small to record anywhere especialy as it was deemed a failure at the time.

    Rob,
Looking at the 2nd Kensington's War Diary for March 1945, shows that A Coy 2 PLK: "4 and 5 Pls fired DF during early morning. 5 Pl fired HF during evening. Coy carried out supporting fire programme for 4 Lincs Op "REGENTS PARK".
2 PLK was the Div MG Bn for 49 Div. 4th Bn Lincolnshire Regt was with 146 Bde.

What was the the actual date of the that info from the Kensington's war diary. I can then cross check 4 Lincoln's war diary.

    Cheers

    Rob,
(sorry I'm one year late with this reply)
    Date is 9 March 1945
    9 March 1945
    A Company

4 and 5 Pls fired DF during early morning. 5 Pl fired HF during evening. Company carried out supporting fire programme for 4 Lincs Op “REGENTS PARK”.
    B Company
6 and 8 Pls supporting fire programme for raid by D Coy 11 RSF on area 3 Coy Bn KRAMSEL opposite DWR positions.
    C Company
9 Pl carried out HF during day and night and got some spandau fire back at 2237 hrs causing no casualties.
    D Company
15 Pl engaged two houses 719717 with AOP in support 146 Brigade. AOP report houses burning well with intermittent explosions.
    BROCKFORCE
Western OP report sound of engines in the river at 2245 hrs 2315 hrs 2330 hrs and 2340 hrs. River swept by searchlights but nothing observed.
I believe 5 Pl was at GR (qE 611710) which translates to 51.92041° / 5.71825° as a Lat / Long, which puts them in the area of Zetten, NL.
