    I know, it's one of the reasons I sell war diaries so I can reinvest the money into books as they are otherwise beyond my pay grade. Keep looking sometimes a cheap one pops up now and then.

    Hi Sam.

    I am researching my mother-in-law's second cousin, Wilfred worton. He was in the 4/7 rdg, 8th armoured. Bed was in A Squadron. Please can you tell me where you obtained your photo from - was it sent home from the front in ww2? Thanks Michelle

    Sam hasn't visited the Forum for some time so I suggest you send a 'Conversation' message.

    I note you have also posted your request on Facebook where you are getting some good responses. I think I was the chap who posted about the Creully Club but that was some years ago and I don't think their web site is currently maintained. For information, there is still a commemoration held at the 4/7RDG Memorial in Creully at, I believe, 11am on every 6th June.

    Thank you sdp. Yes I did search for the cruelly club but as you say there is no website that I can see. I will send a nessage to Sam. Yes Facebook is fast becoming a great source for my question but I am so enjoying reading the other posts too. Thank you x

    Hi Sam, My Uncle was Robert Arthur Armstrong, my dads older brother. I don't know if you found out what you was looking for? my Aunt Jo has some things relating to the day Raymond & Robert died.

    DW - died of wounds - 28d9m1944...

    And initially listed as Trooper L.R. Orr here...

    I think was perhaps his father - or "just" - coincidence - in name... ;-)

    * His father is listed on his grave as F.L.Orr - Monkseaton, Northumberland - near Whitley Bay...
