    The extra titles were for certain battalions within the regiment based on the pre-1922 Indian Army organization.

    The pre-war Indian Artillery Mountain Batteries also had titles:

    On 1 August 1939 the mountain batteries became part of the Indian Regiment of Artillery. Before that they formed part of the Royal Artillery. Each regiment added Indian to its title on 13 October 1942.
