    Daan Èrnemmer for life!

    Hello Peter
The man whos logbook I am looking at was Sgt Meaton whos Pilot was Fg Off Jennings . I have one crash logged with them but that was at 1665 Heavy Conversion Unit. in the logbook on the SOE drops there are what looks like codewords like " Rumney 5" do you know what these mean

    Max,

Rumney5 (must be RUMMY5) is a DZ, where supplies were dropped for the Dutch resistance. They all had a code-name. If you can post the date of that in the logbook, I try to find out where it is. I must have a list somewhere in one of my books, but forgot which book it is.

    Edit: Found it!
13/14-10-1944 570 P/O Jennings Rummy5 No drop Bad weather and no reception on DZ.
    I also have other ones:
    8/9-11-1944 570 Stirling P/O Jennings Draughts 1 No drop.
    1/2-02-1945 570 Stirling P/O Jennings Draughts 7 No drop.

CODENAME: COORDINATES: NAME OF PLACE IN HOLLAND:
    RUMMY 5: 52.47.18.N - 06.36.49.O Mantingerzand
    DRAUGHTS 1: 52.41.15.N - 04.59.02.O Spanbroek
    DRAUGHTS 7: 52.38.55.N - 05.10.18.O Venhuizen

Hello John, welcome to the forum.

I believe quite a few would be interested to see the photos you have, why not start a separate thread.

Looking at the details of your fathers loss, would he have been a crew member of Wellington X NA962. lost 31 July 1945?
