    I Googled my dad's regt and got a hit on this site, can't find the post now after joining and searching. Help.

    Hi Dave
    6th Field Regt RA - 1944
    were a Corps (2 Army) Artillery Regt with 3AGRA (Army Group Royal Artillery),
    not Divisional as most Field Regts were (always attached to one Division), so were sent by the AGRA to support whichever unit needed them.
    Philip's Arty site has a bit on there time in Holland;
    6 Field Regiment

    Yeah, I know about my dad's regiment when attached to airborne in Netherlands and the US 101st screaming eagles around Eindhoven. I emailed the IWM for war diaries before that when he went into Normandy with the 59th Medium Regiment though. He was transferred to 6th field for OMG and remained there with that regiment until released from servive in 1947 in Rafah Palestine. Its the Normandy history I want.
