According the Medical Corps' official history, No. 5 Field Dressing Station was in Normandy in July as it worked with Nos. 14 and 18 Field Ambulance in Caen. These two units were part of two different divisions, the 2nd and 3rd C.I.D. I will try to track down which parent No. 5 belonged to. I am thinking that it belonging to 1st Canadian Army under the name No. 5 Casually Clearing Station.

Just found it. No. 5 Field Dressing Station was part of the 3rd Canadian Infantry Division.
The div's medical units were: 14, 22 and 23rd Field Ambulances, the 5 and 7 Field Dressing Stations and the 7 Field Hygiene Section.

I am fortunate that I have most of the official histories on the Canadian Army during WWII.

I found a picture that may interest you. Instead of fighting to try to upload it here I put it on my website. Check out the first picture on www.stormboatkings.ca
