Looking for any info on this unit. 653 Road Construction Coy, Royal Engineers. My grandfater served in it throughout much of WW2. I know that after the war the unit was sent to palastine. Have tried internet searches with little sucess. Any help appreciated
Hi Dave and welcome to the forum. Your Grandfathers unit diaries will probably be the best bet if you can get to Kew where the records are kept. Another alternative maybe the RE Museum in Chatham. They seem to have a rather good website and a email to them may bare fruit. Good luck with your research Andy Ps any pictures or info you already have would be gratefully received on here if you care to share it.
Dave, Hello and welcome to the forum. I am sure that you will receive help when our Royal Engineer specialists see the thread. Regards Tom
