Hello John do you have his service records?
Also hopefully someone might have the war diaries for that period which would confirm where they were

    regards

I have 1st AA division diaries and I think all the constituent brigade diaries but can’t check until the weekend. It’s quite likely they would be mentioned in there I think.
Possibly 49 AA Brigade at a guess.

I was hoping to find some references to 69Bty, 21st LAA Regiment in either a 1st AA Division, 49th AA Brigade or possibly 26th AA Brigade diaris but I don't seem to have found anything. I do have 79LAA Bty up to March 41 and there is a suggestion in there that they may have been part of another brigade. I guess it will need the actual 69 battery diary to see if Hounslow possibly makes sense but that appears to run only to March 41 as well.

    Reference: WO 166/2816
    Description:
ANTI-AIRCRAFT COMMAND: LIGHT ANTI-AIRCRAFT BATTERIES: 69 Light Anti-Aircraft Battery (LAA).
    Date: 1939 Aug.-Oct., 1940 Jan., - 1941 Mar.

The regiment diary runs a little later and may have a clue as to what Division / Brigade they were under and there may be merit in following that up

    Reference: WO 166/2691
    Description:
ANTI-AIRCRAFT COMMAND: LIGHT ANTI-AIRCRAFT REGIMENTS: 21 Light Anti-Aircraft Regiment (LAA).
    Date: 1939 Aug.- 1941 Oct.

    Two suggestions.
Have you tried the RA Archives. They hold data sheets on RA Regts. The one I obtained (£20, I think) on 35th LAA had comprehensive information on the Battery movements in the UK prior to deployment to the Far East.
Secondly. Lt Col Saunders wrote a report on 21 LAA which may help. At the moment I can't find it. It may be WO 106/2563 - I'll keep looking.
