There was some family chatter a while back that he might have guarded POWs in Scotland and England. He passed away in the 1970s so not sure.

There is no B103 in the papers we received. I am very new to this and my knowledge is limited. According to the list No 5 POW Camp is in Cookstown in Co Tyrone. There was some family chatter regarding him guarding POWs in Wales or Scotland but that was a very long time ago. I was wondering according to the records do you think that he was in Burma at one time? He did receive the Burma Star

That looks a good possibility. He returned to UK 11/6/45 and posted to 25 Holding Battalion. Posted 24/7/45 to N0. 5 POW Camp.

Thank you for that, it's like a big piece of the puzzle. I was wondering about the period of 1942 to 1943 on the attached. It the time marked as India. Would this be when he was sent to India / Burma? I was also wondering are the entries for the X List (II) and X List (IV) are they the sick list? Just wondering do you know what the Y list refers to?

I am not sure what to do about the other post. Should I just chat on that one do you think?

The 1st battalion Inniskilling Fusiliers were heavily involved in the 1942 retreat from Burma and were badly knocked about at the battle of Yenangyaung where a large number of men were captured and then released when the Chinese turned up. I suspect that from the date that he was posted to the battalion he would have been a reinforcement after their heavy losses.

My brother was wondering if someone could help us with identifying Ralph's medals. We think one is a Burma Star and not sure what the others are. My brother recently had the ribbons replaced but they are the same colours as they would have been originally.
