Thanks Drew5233 for the links about the battalion (sorry i did not reply to the message you posted been so busy recently) in France 1940,i have found this to be extremely helpful in trying to piece my grandads whereabouts during this confusing time. However what i cannot seem to find is a nominal roll of the battalion prior to embarking to Le Harve April 1940,i am hoping that if i can find his name on this list and what company he was with i will be able to tell how he escaped any info that you may have on this would be much appreciated. He would be listed as Pte J.D.Piper 6340981. Many thanks jp01

My dad served with the Queens Own royal west kents. His 95 in a couple of weeks and although his short term memory is poor he remembers every detail from being called up to his time in burma , kohima a d lots of stories. Be lovely if there was someone he served with could send him a birthday message. His name is George Gagg . Thank you
