Evening all, Been researching my late grandfather Eric William Adams' military history, I discovered that he served with the 7th Battalion King's Own Royal Regiment at various places during the war. Home 10/5/39 - 23/8/39 Embodied 24/8/39 - 24/4/40 BEF France 25/4/40 - 5/6/40 Home 6/6/40 - 17/6/42 Gibraltar 18/6/42 - 14/9/42 Home 15/9/42 - 13/12/42 India 14/12/42 - 22/10/45 Home 23/10/45 - 25/1/46 2/T Res 26/1/46 - 6/3/47 Looking through his records I discovered he was exposed to some sort of agent week ending 24/10/1942. Sounds ominous maybe chemical? but could be something and nothing, really do not know so Im turning to you guys any ideas what it could be? Thanks Paul
Looks like it does say 'C.W. agent' , chemical warfare. Answer maybe in the Bn war diary. http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/SearchUI/s/res?_q=WO%20166%2F8745 WO 166/8745 7 King's Own Royal Regiment (Lancaster) 01 January 1942 - 30 November 1942
Nothing in the Regimental History by Cowper. It just mentions the leaving Gib for Home and then the next mention is of them arriving in India in 1943
It could also be read due to the full stops as "exposed to a.l.w agent" - whatever 'a.l.w' would be?? just a thought TD
Hi gents, Thank you for the replies, I was just wondering if this sort of entry is on any ones relitives service records? Thanks again Paul
