Hi All Does anyone have a copy of 71 Field Company war diary covering 1944 and or 1945. The reason I ask is British Forces Broadcasting Services recently ran a story about a surviving member of the company and I thought I'd try and provide him and his family with a copy of the diary (for free) so they can look back over his time with the company in North West Europe. Cheers Andy
Thanks Drew, shame about not finding that article mate as I have come across a potted history of 71st Fd Coy which appears to have been written by someone in the HQ section about May 1945. Funnily enough, the forum software did not alert me to a reply to this thread.
Hi, I know this is a year old and I've only just seen it (searching for this companies war diaries) but I found this and wondered if it is of any use. BBC - WW2 People's War - Bridges built by 71st Field Company Royal Engineers.
