When the National Archives re-open, get hold of Gary Tankard on this site and he will track down the War Diaries for you for Apr 45.

My hunch is somewhere in the Po Valley firing shells at retreating Germans.

Sorry, cannot help for April 45, but on May 16 1945, 73 Med Regt RA were part of 2 AGRA (HQ Ferrara) and were based in a town called Cattolica. Hope this helps.

Thank you for replying. My father was wounded at 2300 hours on 22 April and trying to determine where they were. After passing through various field stations was in hospital in Rimini pre op at 1630 hours on 23rd April.

  6. April 1945 73rd med was at/near the Athena Gap.

  7. Cattolica was a R&R location for 2 AGRA and 73 Med Regt ummediately after the German surrender.
