    September 21 2019:
A few pics of the small base camp in Grave, Holland.
This was one of the few camps being set up to take part of the 75th Market Garden commemoration.
I was actually amazed to see German re-enactors here.
I talked to some of them, and found out they were from Germany.
Normally, you get to see many British and US re-enactors, but it's very uncommon to see some german WWII vehicles and soldiers. IMG_20190921_210525.jpg IMG_20190922_110454.jpg

As Usual the german get all the press!
I thought that it was illegal to wear german ww2 uniforms in europe?

    It's illegal in Germany.
They got permission for the reenactment in Grave, Holland.
I talked to some of them, they said it was a lot of paperwork.
By the way, most of the time... the liberators get all the press.
Usually at events like these, the only soldiers running around are in allied uniforms.
We were very surprised to see the "enemy" uniforms and motorbike here, I can assure you.

Sorry but it isn't. German army uniforms are allowed provided there are no swastikas on them so that the "Hoheitsabzeichen" has to be removed and belt buckles etc modified. I think the full fig is allowed with special permission for the purpose of accuracy in professionally made films and TV documentaries. SS uniforms are banned. Reenactors normally use the Czech Republic where no paperwork is needed

The SS and Waffen SS were declared to be criminal organisations at Nuremburg.

The wearing of such uniforms to represent the said organisations in reenactment is banned, as you would expect, in France.

    Exactly...
Of course I was talking about the swastikas...
The belt buckles had them, some helmets had them as well.
The way they were dressed in Holland simply would NOT have been allowed in Germany.
    Simple fact.
