There appears to be very little information on the forum regarding 76 OTU based at Aqir in Palestine.

My interest is circa the end of 1943 and the early part of 1944.

Airmen were mustered into crews and trained on Wellington night flying before being posted to operational squadrons mostly in Italy and specifically the Foggia landing strips.

Were ORBs kept by OTUs? I can't locate any references at Kew.

    Any information appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi
OTU orbs are in the AIR 29 series, I would have thought they were in AIR 29/686 but they aren't listed as being so. It might be that they are incorporated into Aqir's Station ORBs in AIR 28/35, 36 and 37.

    AIR 29/686
    AIR 28

    Good luck!

Unfortunately the refs have not been digitised and therefore are not available on-line so have requested a quotation for the relevant records.

Once you have had the smelling sorts or have been defibrillated by the local Paramedics after reading the quote give me a shout if you would like a much cheaper alternative - I charge 10p per page :D

    OK have a good laugh!

    £308 for AIR 28/36 and £64 for AIR 28/35

They don't mention the number of pages. Although I specifically asked for Dec 43 through to Apr 44 it seems they must be doing the entire files for that sort of money.

To be fair they are a lot cheaper than I expected, especially AIR 28/35. Shame they don't say how many pages. Either way I know I'm a lot cheaper than them ;)

I'll drop you a PM at some point tonight
