I have just found this post, I actually own the photos and some paperwok of Brigadier Albert Gillibrand DSO. I had never seen that paper clipping though so am very thankful. If youd like to see the items let me know. They are mainly WW1 photos in Egypt but I have a photo of his wife and of Albert in WW" as well as the chaplains letter to his wfe after he died on post.
Hello and welcome to the forum. Thanks for posting your offer. Anything you'd care to share here about Brig. Gillibrand's service etc, would be appreciated.
Ill take some photos of the items. Can I just ask where you found out about the Brig. Gillibrand and where did the paper clipping come from?. Thanks again! Dan
Hello Dan, Thanks again. My only interest sprung from Mentions in Despatches under Commands & Staff which I stumbled upon in London Gazette. (From time to time I post these particular awards along with any additional info relating to the individuals listed.) As for the newspaper clipping, if you see the blue link above it - Salford war memorials - it'll bring you directly to the site where it was originally posted. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any newspaper archive source.
Hi Dan, The following is the obituary for Brig Gillibrand extracted from the RASC Journal (October 1942): Regards Bruneval
