I'd appreciate any advice on service information for LAC Salke Lipiner. He served with the 145 squadron and died in Sicily in 1943.

Of course, getting his military records would certainly help confirm (or not) how he died.

I’ve researched No 145 Squadron Operational Record Books for that date, and I found the record below. It is stating on the night of 11 Aug 1943, starting at 2215 hours the airfield was bombed by the enemy and 3 airmen were killed, with 7 wounded (one seriously and had to be evacuated)..........It is “possible that LAC Lipiner may have been one of the men killed in this air raid.......but again, his records may give more information and confirmation on this.

This is where Lentini was located in Sicily. Their were TWO “Landing Grounds”......Lentini East and Lentini West. Lentini West was located South west of Lake Lentini

    Thank you Temujin
If there are any sources that can be looked at except for the service record in regards to LAC Lipiner or the actions oft he 145th Squadron, I'd appreciate learning about them.

There are 2 records for him on xxxxx . Is there anyone here who could see if they possibly give more details on his service? One of them is from 1940, possibly his enlistment for which there is no known date at this time.
