    I thought this would make a nice little project for the forum to see how much info we can collectively find out about his military career. He just got a mention on the TV programme 'Heir Hunters' this morning and they didn't say much - I think we can do better.

    He is listed on CWGC and is buried in Italy:

    I watched the programme too.
    Didn't they say he was driving through Italy when he was killed by a bomb?

    Maybe someone could check the Newcastle library for local papers around that date.

    Well you are not doing too badly :biggrin:

    Maybe someone should contact the Heir hunters and get them to tell the family to look here, at least they will know the circumstances of his death. :wink: It's great that he was mentioned by name.
