A query came up on another forum (Axis History) re the existence of an 80th Armoured Division in the British order of battle. It is referred to in a book by Mark Bevis, British and Commonwealth Armies 1939-45 (Supplement Vol. 2), seemingly in Home Forces Oct-Dec 1942. No one else seems to mention this Division. It certainly is not detailed in Joslen, which is my Bible for Divisional references at least, and the only place it pops up in a web search appears to be in relation to the same author. There was an 80th Division, but it certainly wasn't "armoured." 80th Infantry (Reserve) Division (United Kingdom) - Wikipedia
