Just got hold of Sgt Trevor Greenwood's book "D-Day to Victory" which is his 9RTR diary for that period. Looks at first glance to be a pretty detailed as memoirs go, published 2012 in association with the Imperial War Museum, excellent value from the usual sources. Previously published in 1988 as "One Day At A Time".

    hi guys
have received my grandfathers military record and it seems that the aldershott photo
is not in preperation for d-day but is in fact a physical training instructor course
at command physical training aldershott maida gymnassium march 1944
    thanks

Just seen your great photo - Yes that has a PTI course written all over it to me. That building still exists and it is either outside the front of the building where the museum is now or it is round the side where the swimming pool used to be. I'm 95% it's the swimming pool entrance - I used to stand in that corner if it is, having a quick smoke (apparently to open my lungs up a bit) before the next 'beasting' lesson when I was on my course there in 2002.

I am from Afferden and I learned that 6 RTR was deployed in the liberation in February 1945. The were also deployed in the liberation of the villages of Bergen and Well, these villages belong to the municipality of Bergen. Does anybody has information or the war diarys of 6 RTR in the battle of the liberation of the municipality of Bergen? Thanks

Just been doing a quick google to see what information I could find out about the 9th RTR fo which my grandfather was part of. Saddly I don’t think I have any photos to share but I will ask my mother, so here is a picture of my gf’s creation that she made for my mum.
