    Armley.

Drat, I was in a Naples CWGC cemetery on Mon. I could have got you a photo of LBdr WS Peoples. He was killed on 21 Oct 43. Bdr JLD Mark is also buried there as is Gnr AB Evans.

You really should go and tip your hat.

    Regards

    Frank

It's ok Frank. I haven't been to the cemetery in Naples but I have seen the 9th's memorial plaque in Derry which names the fallen. Along with the lads I mentioned there was another I think was called Moir. My dad also spoke of the Basuto's whom also fell that tragic night. The Basuto's had been attached since North Africa.

Armley, my name is John Porter. I live near Derry. My father was in the 9th., 25 Battery. At some time after Alemein he was deployed to the Intelligence Corps and didn't go to Italy. He only had the Africa Star (with clasp), not the Italy Star like the rest of his regiment. Please get in touch.

Clive, I've neglected the site for (almost exactly!) a year. I'd appreciate it I if you managed to contact Armley. I don't mind giving my email address johnporter11@aol.com
