The reason I deliberately ignored the shiny stuff etc, and zoned in on books, if I start buying all that other stuff....I will need another house to put it in and more money than the bank of England can supply me with.

I'm guessing it was the Bristol (Yate) Militaria Fair you attended Jason. Keep away from the medals etc. once you are lured in, it is a slippery slope.

Mate, what about Surabaya but in the immediate postwar? Ye know, Ball of Fire stuff: Dead brigadiers, working with the Japanese to protect Dutch civilians (oooh, irony...), etc.

Mate, first of all, long time no read; hope everything is OK up in the Skagerrak.

Found it through one of those coincidences which just happens on the web; was looking for some images, NEI related, and the cover of the book popped up; then I followed the link and... voilá!!

Me mate Orwell almost fainted (I did :D) when I told him about it.

Well, well, well, what do we have here: A catchy title for an interesting subject... Sounds OCRable :D

By the way, why "Chinese Chindits"? Something related to the CEF of '42 fame?
