    Vickers Wellington Mk IV Z1209 claimed to be shot down by Oberleutnant Heinrich Alexander Ludwig Peter Prinz zu Sayn-Wittgenstein III./NJG 2. The Wellington crashed into the Northern Sea. German costal defense in Vlissingen, Netherlands reported a burning wreckage on the water at 1:16 hrs. The entire crew was killed in action.

    Gunner Frederick John Perkins No 1517720 appears in my book of the war time story of 6th HAA Regt from 1939-1945 when the survivors were released from Jap POW camps. He was in RHQ of this Regt and from the date of death must have been shortly after they were trapped in the enclave at Dunkirk. A knowledgeable colleague suggests he may have been drowned during the evacuation and his body washed up on the coast..
    As far as I am aware he was not Canadian but just happened to end up in their cemetery. If you wanted to see the day to day diary of the war time exploits of this unit then all three batteries are covered in my book.
