Could anyone please let me know what the maximum age for joining the Royal Engineers was in WW11. Thankyou in advance.
As far as I know there was no age limit for signing up, especially if they had a skill/trade the Engineers could use
I have recently been told it was 52 as someone in a CWGC grave in our village church gave his age as 51 and this is recorded as officially his age at death whereas all his census returns would indicate he was 58 when he joined up.
