It's all splendid stuff Tom, deeply strange & moving to see the funeral of a young man 60+ years after the war took him. Can't imagine the thoughts going through his mate's head. Well done to 'Our man in Berlin' & all the other people that put so much effort into this particular act of remembrance. Cheers, Adam.
Adam, Just Glad to be of service and the sun came out, which was lovely. Later this afternoon we have had really stormy winds and very heavy rain. I firmly believe that the sun shone on the Righteous today. Regards Tom
Tom, I'd give you some rep points but computer says no ... have to wait until I spread them around a bit more! Have added in your comments next to photos. Certainly seems to be a dignified and respectful occasion. Thanks again for these. Where's your next assignment I wonder ... d
Once I saw they had "I Vow To Thee My Country" in the service I quickly got the Katherine Jenkins version up on You Tube and listened to that whilst viewing the superb photos. Made me bite my bottom lip looking at them so I can imagine the emotions at the funeral. Well done Tom and thank you Diane for posting them. An excellent thread this.
Thank you very much for attending the service and taking the photos Tom, and also thanks to Diane for posting them up
Photographs of the other crew members Grave stones. Sergeant Kenneth Frederick Stanbridge. Pilot Officer Eric Arthur Church. Regards Tom
I have revisited Berlin cemetery to take further photoraphs for a forum member and took these three photographs as a fitting end to Sgt Bremners Funeral last week. Regards Tom
Great Pictures Tom Certainly stirs the emotions. Not sure if you a familar with this site Griffiths the full story is there. Richard
Richard, Many thanks for the addition of the Griffiths link, which adds greatly to the thread and the understanding of the aircrafts loss and that of the crew members who did not survive. Regards Tom
Dear All, I thought about adding this to its own thread, and if the mod's think thats the better option then please feel free to do so. Reg Wilson has given me permission to add all of his PoW memories to our web site. Be warned though; if you are one of those people who start reading something, and find it hard to stop... this was originally 39 A4 pages long!!! I just want to say thanks to Reg for entrusting this to us, and to be quite honest, I am only half way through reading it all and I have already learnt so much. With the interest in this crew I thought some of you might want to have a 'quick read' All the best Chris
Chris, First of all, thank you for the link to your wonderful website with the superb information about Reg. I only spoke to Reg for a short time as he was much in demand on the day of the funeral, but I can say that he was a real gentleman. Regards Tom
