Appreciate this thread may all come back to haunt us but....

    I will go to Bovington
And photograph the war memorials in a five mile radius of Horsham
    Not to mention sorting photos.

And most of all I will appreciate that I am sitting here in freedom with my daughters as grandchildren of a ww2 tank commander because of all that he and my uncle and the vets and millions like them did for us.

    Happy New Year

Susan - do you know Gary Cooper?

He is researching all WW2 dead from Horsham and area? He is a member here.

I hope Gary will forgive me if I say I don't recall him and the Horsham connection without searching the Canadian Horsham thread which I am very interested in. Was driving past this little Partridge Green memorial today and thought, of the " photo your war memorial " thread .....

And my New Years Resolution is ...

    ... to do more housework.

I suspect that will swiftly turn into more transcribing of files.

Yes understand that. My Scotsman threw an apron at me on his way out to work and fortunately for the forum I didn't let it block the keyboard...:D

Ah, the annual battle of Will over Won't, Plenty of will power, no won't power -will you have another a drink? No I won't! Packed up smoking years ago, yet my pipe rack is still on the shelf. Promised myself that I will buy a tin of Erinmore (ready rubbed for idle smokers) and it would be Puffing Billy (Hayling Island for train buffs) again. The will power fails me and I never do! However, I await my new year resolutions yet to be announced by OC household, usually issued at wagging finger point. Nothing that a spot of bribery will not overcome, 'did I not say I was going to buy you that?' How remiss of me! The time of year for waistline discussions, MINE! Are there any roast potatoes I ask? Yes,it is under the carrot.Hmm,like that is it? Advice on my choice of drink with my meal - 'you do not need a beer with that'. I am still a tad miffed, last year in that flurry of snow the youngest daughter popped over with two of my granddaughters, they were looking out of my study window at the snow covered hills, come! The three of us were soon on that hill with a metal tray. (Miffed? The tray has gone from the garage) No encouragement - unless be careful you silly old fool is useful advice! followed by - you can wash that lot yourself. She is of course still the most useful -no, no I meant beautiful element of my life and although I jest, I would not change her for the world (Unless there is somebody............no best not!) Have no desire to be accused of knowing some floozy by the name of Miss Sojenee.

    Hi Susan,

I don't make resolutions because of the above.

I am taking 6 Connawarra reds with me to the South Coast of NSW and will enjoy every one of them.

    Cheers

    Geoff,

It's the time interval between the 6 bottles that really matters!:D Bon appetit!

My resolution was to change careers so I start a new job on January 3rd. I will inevitably go from being the master of my domain to the village idiot, so I expect that my WW2 talk time will suffer. I'm glad that Gerard is planning to pick up the slack.

I will consider once in a while to let common sense win over will power.

I promise I will do a proper BEF in 1:300 scale during the course of the year. Even it being pre-RealWW2 (this part is to annoy Andy  )
