Attached are some more images of Kangaroos from 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment. Again images are mostly courtesy of Temujin, British Pathe and the Imperial War Museum Archives. All are for reference and research. If anyone can add anything please let me know or post them. Cheers Kevin
Answering my dumb question: the beret badge! But Tprs Linfoot and Hagerman in front LOLLYPOP do not have the 1 CACR badge. Looks more like RTR to me...
Hi Michel, The majority were sent to me by Temujin stating that they come from Canadian archives the only one that might be a bit suspect is LOLLYPOP as you pointed out.
Hi Michel, I had a look through the images I have and was curious about LOLLYPOP. The attached shows the Canadian Kangaroo image. This image is not shown on any of the other 49 APC Kangaroos, they are not all at the same angle but those that are do not show the image. Was this symbol used on all Kangaroos or was it unique to 1 CAPCR? Cheers Kevin
I do not know for certain, but this sign is seen only on 1 CACR Kangaroos, plus it matches their cap badge, and finally it would be unusual for two different units to have the same unit sign, especially so from two different countries, therefore it should be 1 CACR only. But I may be wrong. It looks like the sign was Orange with White kangaroo and outline [Edit - see my Post #11 below:] Black with Orange kangaroo and outline, thus different from the sign and patch below: Source: 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment interest, a Armatos Fundit kangaroo cap badge along with a pa See also Mark Tonner's excellent series of articles on canadiansoldiers.com: www.canadiansoldiers.com The infill colour has apparently darkened a bit on this leather patch: Source: 1st Canadian Armoured Carrier Regiment "Kangaroos" Leather Patch Set all of which [Edit:] The "Black with Orange kangaroo and outline" scheme matches shades on the photo of MARION: So, LOLLYPOP was probably 1 CACR after all.
This is the problem when squaddies from a different regiment / country pose in front of tanks MOUNTAIN BULL being a prime example. Cheers Kevin
As an aside to the comments above, in "Canada's Pride" there is a remark (below a photo of 'PEARL') that the orange & black colours are the Dutch colours. Also (not nit-picking) 'CANADA' has lost its Kangaroo designation in your list to 1 July.

A major correction to my previous post, with thanks to Kevin who provided the info: it appears that the colours of 1 CACR unit sign on the vehicles were not "Orange with White kangaroo and outline" as I erroneously wrote, but Black with Orange kangaroo and outline. This matches the various photos better, which show an infill too dark to be orange, and a darker than white kangaroo and outline. Post #6 above edited accordingly.
