Some very poignant stories today on an Antiques Roadshow WW1 special. Even the presenters were becoming quite emotional. Made me take a look at some of my WW1 casualty medals and think what stories lay behind them all. Lest We Forget.
Very emotional programme. Can be watched on BBC iplayer BBC iPlayer - Antiques Roadshow - Series 41: 2. World War I Special
Thanks Leslie. Glad this can be seen again by others. I followed up on the King's Liverpool Lieutenant Gordon Thorpe MC. His father went over to find his grave after the war, which the German soldiers had named Ein Officer und drei soldaten. As you can see below, the CWGC concentration document fully bares out what was mentioned tonight.
This is the UK version of the Antiques Road Show and might not be viewable in the Unites States or Canada at this time.
A special programme is due out on the 8th September marking the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the war. BBC One - Antiques Roadshow, Series 42, Second World War Special
Apparently it was originally shown in 2018, although I don't recall it, but for anyone who didn't see it, I can recommend trying to get it on catch up - some really moving stories. Filmed at Etaples Military Cemetery. BBC iPlayer - Antiques Roadshow - Series 41: World War I Special
