Happy to ignore it as it is a nice pic. Merely querying the official caption!

My better half has been reading a book which made mention to a "Tucker" Auto.

During Sunday Breakfast I was asked if I had heard of such a car.

My reply was in the Negative, but I was soon on the Computer searching and found that the American, Preston Tucker, designed quite advanced cars.

I had never heard of this man or his cars and was pleasantly surprised to see that he designed an Armoured car for the Dutch armed Forces, but Holland was over-run by the Germans before production and delivery was possible.

He turned to the US Government with his Armoured Car, but it was not taken on board. However his Gun turret was put into production and was used on several US Airforce Bombers and Naval boats such as the PT boats.

A few random photographs just appeared on a work bulletin board - I didn't think to ask where they were found...

The first one actually is seeking a definitive answer as to what type of vehicle is featured - "I’ll be interested in the answers to this one; I don’t know what the vehicles are, but guess from the Vickers MMG and pith helmets that they are British."

Mind you the middle photo apparently shows a jeep being used in 1938 (maybe some sort of Morris truck)

& The last photo doesn't have any Pith helmets but it came as a package deal with the other photos......

First picture, believe it or not, are Rolls Royces.
Standard Silver Ghosts converted & presented by the Rajah of Ticca at the beginning of WW1 (George Forty).

(Great shots by the way, Dave - thanks to whoever shared them.)

Second is a Commer Raider, I think (no idea on the car... not good at them - Austin?)
    And that's no Jeep - A Morris CS8 I'd say.

Just realised what Hiqh quality series these pics come from. We had a thread somewhere - dozens of other crackingly sharp shots in the set.

Car in second pic is an Austin 7 tourer, they were used as radio cars and were introduced pre war.

Who knew that America could actually still be a bastion of good taste and sartorial elegance...
I read that USMC weapons instructors can still wear 'Tropical Helmets' on the range:

But he's been sick on his pyjamas. Hardly sartorial elegance....
