I am new to the forums but wonder if anyone could place the photo. It is of members of the Army Catering Corp. i think it could of been taken in Eindhoven in late 1945 as my father was sent for there after his assignment in Belsen. Any help would be gratefully received

Do you have a copy of his service records? They'll tell you the ACC units he was with and where he was with them. I suspect unless he was at a big HQ he would have been attached to another unit.

Thanks for the really quick response. I have sent off for his service records today. His service number 714781 I think suggests that he joined the hussars. I do know that he was in France in 1940 and then the desert. He returned to Aldershot I think as a trainer. He then was in Normandy and through to Germany with 30 corps. He was then attached to 2nd Army staff and promoted to staff sergeant in the letter that told him to report to Belsen and be attached to 32 c.c.s.

I believe it was here that he contracted TB and then sent ti Eindhoven.

Sounds an interesting career...I'd be particularly interested in his 1940 service in France. I'll probably have his units war diary for then.
