Hi all, a picture of A B LLOYD MM. who took the previously unseen photo, trying to find out how the camera or film made it home to Wales, Lofty A B LLOYDS MM, grave in Oosterbeek, this September. regards lofty
Hello Lofty, Seeing your post prompted me to go back over all the old pictures etc I have from Oosterbeek and whilst this sheds no new light on Lloyd's photo I thought it might be interesting. The first picture shows the rough area of both scenes. No.2 is approx. where Lloyd's photo was taken and No.1 is where the other series of photos come from. The areas are quite close together and one wonders what the time difference would have been between Lloyd taking his picture and the one taken by the civilian showing the troops outside the Hotel Burgerlust? All the best..........

Lloyd was first buried in Kate Ter Horst's garden which would suggest that he survived the early fighting along the Onderlang and made it back to the Oosterbeek perimeter where he was wounded. The Casualty enquiry files state that he died of wounds. John
