I would like to inform you that this morning our good friend, former C Squadron Staff Sergeant, John "Paddy" McGeough has passed away. I met John in 1978 and ever since he became a great friend to our family. It was John who got me so passionatly involved in the Glider Pilot Regiment. Below a poem he has sent me in 1989 which I would like to share with you; Very often in my quiet times Siren whispers in my mind say Slip the bounds of present time Return once more to days of yore When youth and the skies were yours I need no will to resist the call To days when comradeship were strangers still And on lions wings I soared on high To silently wander the welcoming sky A great friend is goneā¦ Luuk Buist
