B-17 "Flying Fortress", which was used to drop supplies to the insurgents flew again over Warsaw to drop leaflets in memory of the uprising, Aug. 1, 2006. Former South African pilots were among the veterans invited to the annual ceremonies.

The anniversary of the uprising in the warsaw ghetto is always worth remembering. Glad to see that it was done in such a good fashion this time.

....Deserves to be remembered beyond Poland. Norman Davies' bok "Rising '44" is the best book on the subject. He identifies people by their codenames rather than their real names, though, figuring that American and British readers can't handle those Polish tongue-twisters. Such is life, I'm afraid.
